This week’s stash addition is the Assorted Solids and Yarn Dyes curated by Jennifer Sampou. The bundles come in two color stories: Warm and Cool, and is a great mix of solids plaids and other basics. Each color story contains a range of colors with a few contrasting fabrics that add a little pop to the spectrum. I tend to love bundles like these because they give you a range of fabric types as well as colors to choose from. Between the two of these bundles I was able to fill some holes in my stash.
This is my favorite print. It is a plaid print that is subtle but will make a beautiful addition to some quilts. I already set aside the light neutral one for a quilt for myself that I am planning to make (at some point, but I need to finish up a few other project first). This print also includes one of the few duplicates between the two bundles. The teal plaid fabric is one of them, but I don’t mind as I think it is a great color and print.
The solids ended up being most of the pops of color I mentioned in the bundles, and they also helped to round out the red/pink section of the spectrum. They were a little tricky to photograph and look a little brighter here than they do in real life. The second picture is two shot cottons (I believe), as well as a plaid type print that were in the bundles.
Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Plaid! This is one of my other favorite prints. I like the tiny plaid and they read more masculine to me which is a nice thing to have on hand as sometimes as sometimes it can be very difficult to find fabrics for a man…
The bundles also contain the world’s tiniest houndstooth print (I have no idea if thats true, but it certainly seems like it to me), and a few small gingham prints. Both of prints are welcome, although I do question one of the houndstooth color combos (fuchsia and gold, really?).
All around these are two great bundles, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be the cool palette as I tend to use those colors more often. But hey, this is about building my stash right? So the warm bundle definitely filled more holes.
More stash additions coming soon!
