Lately I have been working on patterns. I have been sketching out new ones, drafting up tested ones, and retesting written ones to work out the kinks. While working on quilt patterns I also came up with a star block (used for a scrappy rainbow pillow) and decided to turn that into a pattern as well.
I drew up the pattern pieces and printed them out so I could test them myself to see if they would truly work. As it happens I needed another pillow for my living room because I made one pillow for my husband (the black and grey hexagon pillow) and I wanted to make one for myself too (in my taste).
I adore the way this pillow turned out. I was able to finish it fairly quickly and my pattern ended up being the
correct measurements so it went together quickly and without problems. I think this block would make a great quilt as well if I made a bunch of them!
In addition to the pillow I have been working on quite a few other projects as well as preparing for a vacation to visit family and friends. I will have a bunch to show you in a few weeks! Hope you are having a wonderful week!

I am sew excited for you, Elise! Glad to see you have been hard at the hardest part of quilting: pattern making. It is challenging. Great job. Your pillow is sweet!
