Hi! My name is Elise Lea and welcome to Lovelea Designs. The name Lovelea Designs comes from a combination of the word love and my last name Lea (pronounced lee) Love + Lea = Lovelea.
I currently live in near Los Angeles, CA with my wonderful husband Jesse and our miniature pinscher Raptor. My husband is a pilot so I try to spend time with him when he is home and I usually do most of my sewing and quilting while he is away.
In addition to taking care of my family and writing a quilt blog, I work time at Robert Kaufman fabrics as a Custom Merchandising and Project Coordinator in addition to writing my own patterns which can be found in my Shop section or Etsy Shop.
I learned to sew at a young age, but didn’t really start quilting until about 2009 when I wanted to make my husband a Christmas Present. I borrowed my mother in law’s machine to make that first quilt and received my own sewing machine as a gift that Christmas and the rest is history!
I currently sew on a Brother Innov-îs VQ2400 Dream Creator and love it! It is a computerized machine with a digital display and an 11” throat. I also have a brother Innov-îs 900D which is a combination sewing and small embroidery machine. I love both machines and can’t image sewing on anything else.
I am a lover of color and fabric and pulling fabrics is one of my favorite parts of quilting. I also really enjoy designing quilts and almost all the quilts you see on my blog are my own design.
