I have been away from the blog for some time now due to a creative rut that felt like it was never going to end and a general lack of motivation to do the actual blogging part. But I am thinking that is about to change, as I have been quite productive lately and have more time on my hands for the next few weeks! I am excited to once again be back creating and blogging.
This lovely stack of fabric is for a delectable mountain quilt (well a slight twist on the block anyways). I had a block drawn up in my sketch book and then I stumbled across a tutorial on Pinterest on a really easy way to make a very similar block (which I now know is called a delectable mountain block) and I was sold. My basic color scheme was Teal, Mint, Coral and Grey.
Since I wanted a slightly wider range of colors I used coral, teal, grey, and mint as my starting point and I added in some bluish teal, peach, pink and green.
The navy blue speckled fabric (which is actually a cotton lawn by Cotton and Steel) has both teal and coral in it and I knew it was to be the accent I was looking for. I will use it in small amounts in the quilt and also bind the quilt in it. I have never used a lawn before, but I have to say that so far I am loving the sheen of the fabric as well as the texture.
I have already cut into these lovelies and will share progress this week!
