After the success of my first 2 button-up shirts I have been finding myself drawn more and more to the idea of making clothes. For those of you who don’t know I currently live in Minnesota and we have bitterly cold winters (last winter we had 47 days below 0˚F /-17.7˚C) and can have snow on the ground for six months or so. Since winter is fast approaching I figured I should make myself some warmer clothing and when I saw this spotted faux fur in the store I knew It was destined to be the lining in a sweatshirt. Shortly after finding the fur I stumbled across the dark brown and grey grid fabric (it looks black and white in the picture but I swear it isn’t in real life) and since I couldn’t find a dark brown rib knit for the cuffs and bottom band I decided to go with grey. My plan is to line the chest, back, and hood with the fur and line the arms with a thinner knit (grey on far left) to keep it from getting too hot.
Since I am making a sweatshirt I need a pattern so I picked up McCall’s M6614 and make view D which is a zip hoodie with a contrast hood. I also picked up the new Grainline Lark Tee pattern hoping to add yet another garment to my wardrobe. I am pretty excited to get started on this and hope to have a finish posted soon!
