This quilt has been finished for some time now and I am finally getting around to blogging about it. I had some trouble with another quilt bleeding onto the binding (which I was fortunately able to fix) and then I took some pictures of it awhile back, but they just didn’t do it justice so a re-shoot was in order.
This is the lap size version of my Gray Matter pattern. I wanted something to create a more masculine version of the quilt, something that contrasted the delicate florals combined with teals and greys that I used when I made the first version of this quilt. I think these oranges and royal blues sure did the trick.
For the quilting I decided to try some dense straight line quilting combined with a swirl in the center of the square. I love that the swirl is subtle and only really noticeable from the back, while the lines add an amazing texture.
My Favorite part of this quilt is where all the lines intersect and it makes a little diamond in the center. While I do love the look f this quilting, I don’t know how much more of it there will be in my future. For the size of the quilt, this took surprisingly long to quilt due to the amount of lines needed for each section.
This finished quilt measures approximately 50″ x 65″ and is currently listed for sale in my Etsy Shop!
Thanks for reading! More finishes to share soon.

Another lovely finish Elise. The combination of orange and blue is quite striking.
